Announcing the Latest GLDs Software – Angled Borehole Simulation!

The recently released GLDs Software is now available on the website. By customer request, GLD is now equipped with Angled Borehole simulations in the Premier version. Built on the new GridBuilder Module and G-function models already in GLD, version 10.1.12 features the capability for designers to utilize newer drilling equipment and techniques. Working from small surface spaces and to drill a widening loopfield in regular or irregular shapes is now built into the latest GLDs Software.

The new release features additional wizards in the GridBuilder to build standard rectangular loopfields, hollow rectangular loopfields, Circular loopfields and any combination of irregular shapes desired. Now, the designer can utilize newer drilling equipment and techniques which can support angles to take advantage of previously unavailable spaces.

Here is a purely hypothetical example of a small footprint, inverted cone shape: Drilled at 25 degrees from vertical, this borehole array is a 30-foot diameter circle at the surface and each bore is 300 ft long. At the bottom, the endpoints of each loop are separated on a nearly 300-foot diameter circle. Next to this diagram is a G-Map of the spatial G-Function. You can also interleave vertical boreholes, multiple angles and combine multiple loopfield sections. The possibilities are endless.

GLD - Ready for Windows 11

Microsoft continues to move users to the latest OS and GLD is now digitally signed and ready for W11 users! GLDs Software continues to be a desktop application. Your data and files are yours and private with no internet connection required.

We all know that the last few years have brought about change in how we work. More companies have made the shift to our network version, which supports remote working via VPN, as well as using virtual machines and remote desktop. Upgrade paths are available for our stand-alone users.
