GLD2016 continues to offer more features and updated
contents.
The newest design tool in GLD, the Piping System
Builder, gets an enhanced fluids table for
international users. Current Metric users will
also notice that there is an expanded selection of
Horizontal Slinky sizes to accommodate the 32mm
slinky that are often used in European markets.
We’ve included a notice to users when choosing the
larger slinky pipe sizes that it is more difficult
to use large slinky pipe in the field but the user
now gets to choose this larger size.
In addition to the
changes above, the newest installer package allows a
per-user installation so that multiple users of the
same machine may now select their own logos for
reports. This is in addition to each user now
having their own unique storage location for all of
the familiar subfolders for projects, zones and etc.
Network administrators
will now have the ability to distribute software to
network users with the new installer that permits
system level permissions in addition to the user
level permissions.

The Piping System Builder
The fully automated
Piping System Builder performs a full piping
build-out, complete with balancing valves, purging
optimization, system efficiency analysis and a
piping bill of materials! There is no other
program in the world that can do this for the
designer. What used to take hours of time with
spreadsheets, specification sheets and frankly,
guesstimating, can now be done precisely in a matter
of minutes. With the Piping System Builder, design
systems with a level of detail and accuracy that can

Microsoft
has now completed the free Windows 10 roll-out and
many of our customers are converted to W10
Professional. Fortunately, GLD2016 has not had
any significant issues and support calls have not
been related to the new OS.
